Dr. Sarah Weitzul is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and American Academy of Dermatology. A leader in her specialty, Dr. Weitzul is the author of numerous scientific publications and textbook chapters, and regularly lectures at national dermatology meetings. Dr. Weitzul has served as President and Vice President of the Dallas Dermatologic Society, as Medical Director for several community skin cancer screenings, and as chair of several committees in national dermatology organizations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Dermatologic Society. She graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University and received her medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she also did a residency in dermatology and fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery. Her internship in internal medicine was performed at Baylor University Medical Center. During her fellowship, she received the prestigious Theodore Tromovitch Award, a national award given annually by the American College of Mohs Surgery for outstanding research in the field of Surgical Dermatology.
Dr. Weitzul was on the full-time faculty at UT Southwestern Medical Center from 2002 to 2009 where she was Director of the Clinical Center for Cosmetic Dermatology. Dr. Weitzul was awarded the “Excellence in Teaching Award” in 2008. She remains on the clinical faculty of UT Southwestern and teaches residents regularly in the skin surgery clinic of the Dallas VA Medical Center.
